I enjoy volunteering and figure skating. I have been passionate about helping neurodivergent children since I was in third grade. Over the past five years, I have led and organized teams of over 35 volunteers, serving more than 100 autistic children through tutoring, basketball, tennis, STEM and Chess Programs. In each year, I have volunteered more than 150 hours and earned president volunteer Gold awards for five years. Through this journey, I have witnessed how neurodivergent teens often feel isolated and lack safe spaces to learn social and life skills. These experiences inspire me to continue serving the neurodiversity community by fostering environments where every child feels valued, supported, and included. My strengths lie in leadership, team building, and the ability to bring people together to create meaningful programs that make a lasting social impact.

Hi, I’m Sihan Tao, a student at University High School. I’ve played competitive chess for about seven years, winning important tournaments such as the u14 Pan-Am Youth Chess Championship in 2023. I also love teaching chess, and I have experience teaching a wide range of audiences, from children under 5 all the way to seniors. I hope to bring my love of chess to kids on the autism spectrum. Outside of chess, I love playing on our school tennis team, which is one of the best in the state. I also enjoy hobbies such as competition math and weightlifting.

I come from a family that blends multiple cultures. Growing up, I've watched my parents talk about different countries, so I'm very open to trying new things. I'm currently attending Mater Dei High School. I joined volunteering a tennis class for children with autism. At first, I was a little nervous, unsure how to get along with them, but with more time, I've become more comfortable. I can practice with them and help them integrate into the community. I love drawing, I'm also a K-pop fan, and I love dancing. I've been learning percussion since I was young and won a national award in Taiwan. I've always been in the school orchestra, and I'm so happy playing with my classmates. My family has always wanted me to grow up in love, and I hope to pass on that love to more people in need.
